This is a great old instrumental. I don’t know much about it, so any input would be much appreciated. I have looked up a few versions online, but it seems there are a lot of tunes called ‘Chilly Winds’ that are nothing like this. I did find one great version by Annie and Mac: you can find the link on my song-links page.
I learned this first from a record in my early picking days, before I’d come to grips with drop-thumb frailing. But for this I stick to my old hybrid style – just kinda works for me.
I play this in standard G tuning – I know a lot of people like the slack sound of open D, but I kinda like the brightness of G.
